The Home Cellar

This store’s opulent decor and cheese-wine pairings highlight the pleasurable experience of wine tasting. The business periodically organizes wine tasting sessions and opens its second-floor VIP rooms for rental by outside companies for educational and meeting purposes. During opening period, the shop is focusing on introducing the wines of Austria and Australia, whose different terroirs impart unique characteristics. Current selections include wines from Austria’s Stif Klosterneuburg, a famous 900-year-old monastery winery that still adhere to wine growing traditions, and Australia’s Chateau Tanunda, an icon of the Barossa Valley whose 100 Year Old Vine Semillon 2013 was selected by the Australian government for the G20 summit in 2014. Most bottles in the shop range from NT$700 to NT$2,500, such as Gruner Veltliner Hengsberg (NT$1,350), Stif Klosterneuburg Pinot Noir Reserve (NT$1,800) or Australian Red Door’s Cabernets and Merlots, averaging NT$660 (buy 2, get 1 free). –By Judy Tan Lee Choo Translated by Anna Yang
