Vegetarian BBQ

An elegant decor, comfortable dining space, rare combination of vegetarian and barbecue dining, and a bamboo menu are all highlights at this creative restaurant. As dishes are served to the table, dry ice also adds to the exquisite plating presentation. In addition to plentiful salad and side dishes, the “7 Fairies” set meal (NT$1,380 for two people, NT$1,980 for three) offers seven varieties of handmade skewers on a ladder-like platter. The roasted chicken legs and king mushrooms are wrapped in fried tofu skin for a varied mix of textures and flavors. Xinjiang kebabs and Hakka stir-fried dishes are quite tasty with rice, and local seasonal vegetables and vegan-meat slices are delicious with seaweed salt and special sauces. Besides rice, food can also be enjoyed with lettuce and as wraps, and there are two fresh vegetable-based soups. Meals are followed by fresh Lishan Tea, sweet soup and dessert, rounding up a healthy set meal that undoubtedly will change many diners’ perspectives on vegetarian food. –By Chloe Chang Translated by Anna Yang, Kieran Cheng
