“The revolution of society’s conscience” notes a sign in this warm-feeling store, filled with wooden decorations and popular with teachers and students from the nearby Lei-chuan Waldorf Experimental High School. The shop offers not only books and teaching materials, but also dining, food products, daily-needs items and, every Tuesday, a farmer’s market, plus Saturday seminars on various topics. It also recently hosted the Taiwan European Film Festival.
Besides coffee, there are herbal teas made with eco-friendly bio-dynamic agriculture-cultivated herbs. Recommendations include Nettle Tea, Yarrow Tea (NT$90), Classic Taiwan Single-Origin Tea, Honey Black Tea, and Yushan Light Oolong Tea. Among desserts are various tarts in flavors such as apple, lemon, and seasonal fruit. Healthy, light entrees (NT$180-250 for set meals), prepared with locally-farmed organic ingredients, include Three Cups Chicken; Thai-Flavor Pork Panini; and Coconut Chicken Over Rice (NT$250).
