Guli Guli takes its name from the Chinese phrase for "cheer up", as the owners want to convey an optimistic, open attitude to customers. Owner Rebecca is a fan of authentic cuisine, and a long-term supplier of Western-style meals and baked goods to hotels and restaurants in the Taipei area. Now she is promoting the concept of healthy, natural-style cooking at this Italian eatery.

Guli Guli combines a bakery and restaurant into one establishment, and makes use of numerous imported ingredients like French Valrhona chocolate, French fruit pulp, stone-milled flour, sweet grass seeds, Arabian coffee beans and extra virgin olive oil. Here, they even grow their own sweet grass to guarantee freshness and easy availability.

The cooking staff is also outstanding and the dessert chefs, from popular bakeries like Champs Elysees and La maison du danemark , excel at making cakes in various three-dimensional shapes. When it comes to cooking, the executive chef here is fastidious about using wholesome ingredients to produce fresh flavors in the offered dishes. However, you don't have to worry too much about spending a fortune here. Their luscious signature pasta Capellini with Spicy Sauce (NT$250), plus the Smoked Salmon Salad with Lemon Sauce (NT$120), with its fittingly intense finish, and Pan-Fried Chicken Leg and King Prawn Topped with Sauteed Truffle (NT$450) are all temping.

Until end of March, Guli Guli is giving away a bottle of French sparkling wine with the purchase of an entree. What a special treat!

Specially-Designed Cakes: Exquisite handmade cakes in the shapes of a handbag, cattle and baseball. They can also make other shap of cake by customer request.

Pan-Fried Chicken Leg and King Prawn Topped with Sauteed Truffle:
