Walking
on Jing Ming 1st Street is like strolling through France's Champs
Elysees Avenue with the colorful umbrellas of varying shapes all
conveying a sense of relaxing leisure that is one of the reasons
why people like it here. I came upon the Oak's Cafe Inn by accident
one day. The Oak's Cafe Inn has a wide variety of items: coffee,
meals, small hot pots, ice shakes, herbal teas...etc. I ordered
an afternoon tea special (NT$220), which comes with Earl Grey milk
tea, cake, and fruit gelatin or pudding, while my friend ordered
a cappuccino. Maybe because it was the weekend and the place was
crowded, the two of us sat out on the breezy outdoor patio for a
full 40 minutes, with only two glasses of water on the table, watching
people bustling by. Perhaps because we felt relaxed, we didn't mind
the delay of our order, instead, the frequent apologies from the
waitresses made me a bit uneasy – the fact was, it felt blessed
to be able to take a moment and enjoy this lushness of spring.
