Pleasured
Treasure is a quaint place which attracts many regulars. It's open
straight through the afternoons, but sometimes closes to let the
proprietor rest. Food options here include different fried vegetables,
and tofus. In addition to rice, there are several noodle options,
stews, rice cakes, and a selection of lovely soups as well. The
ZhaoPai spicey noodles, Dang Gui noodles, Ginsing soup, and Jin
Zhen (Golden Needle) Mushroom Soup are a few of the owner Liu Ying-Zai's
favorite secret-recipe dishes. She also sells bottles of pure mulberry
juice and other herbal juices and teas. Liu became a vegetarian
26 years ago because she wanted to begin a lifestyle that does not
harm sentient beings. She opened Treasured Pleasure 12 years ago.
Before Liu opened Treasured Pleasure she sold vegetarian rice and
noodles from a cart she had in front of a local temple. This is
a restaurant where one can experience classical, homemade Taiwanese
vegetarian food.
