The owners of Serious David Shen's Steakhouse
and Seafood (part of the island-wide Wellspring International
Restaurant Group) have finally expanded to the south of Taiwan.
Along with their new branch in Tainan, they have opened King
Crab Shabu Shabu (and will soon open a steakhouse right next
door) in ShrJung 1st Road, between GuangFu 2nd and MinSheng
2nd Roads, close to the Love River. This all-you-can-eat restaurant
works much in the same way as most of its kind. Customers
pay NT$550 per person (a 10% service charge is added) to help
themselves to as much King Crab, assorted seafoods, a large
array of vegetables, certain meats and other regular hotpot
ingredients as they can eat in a 2-hour timespan. The open-plan
space has tables featuring warmers, on which a hotpot filled
with their trademark soup is brought to the boil. All that
is left then is to add your ingredients and enjoy a delicious
meal. Their specialty of huge, fresh king crabs make for an
interesting dining experience and it is recommended that first-timers
ask the friendly staff to help them. Bottomless coffee, tea
and soft drinks are available, as well as Japanese Meiji ice
cream to complete the meal. Children shorter than 120cm eat
for free. |
