Jia Nan Garden Restaurant was recently opened by the Eden Foundation, which provides assistance to the disabled and those trying to rebuild their lives after the devastating September 21, 1999 earthquake. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. The management committee of the Productivity Building is providing the space for this restaurant free for a period of three years.
In addition, Hecto French Vegetarian Cafe and the The Landis Hotel are providing professional long-term training and guidance, so that diners will be assured of high-quality Chinese and Western dishes, as well as tea and coffee. The daily lunch special (NT$60) features a choice of one of three Chinese-style entrees. Italian iced and hot coffees are also available and range in price from NT$40 to NT$70. Choices include mocha, Blue Mountain, Mandeling and cappuccino. Herbal and flower teas (NT$20 to NT$70) round out the beverage menu. For takeout orders of NT$300 or more, delivery is available. (Jia Nan Garden Restaurant is currently recruiting volunteers to work from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations are also appreciated and can be made at any post office to the foundation’s postal account number 18782829).
