Rosso Cafe

From our archives, Compass Magazine, OCT. 2002

Brought to you by the owners of the popular Cafe Marihuana, this spacious, two-floor establishment is located just behind Chung Yo Department Store, next to the basement parking ramp. It is a striking place, with the decor a modern mix of Asian and Western themes. Some of the nicest seating is upstairs, which includes a large balcony area overlooking the street below. The drinks menu has a fairly typical selection of iced tea conconctions, milk teas, hot teas, juices and coffees, averaging about NT$85. In addition to sorbet, crushed ice, waffes, sandwiches and other snacks, there are a number of filling meas, such as beef noodles (NT$180), stewed beef rice or noodles (NT$200), and various hot pot dishes. These come with a drink. There are also three business lunch specials available on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., costing about NT$220.–By Douglas Habecker
