TOMATO GRILLED

From our archives, Compass Magazine, Aug. 2002:

This friendly, little open-air eatery is the latest addition to the popular Soho Street and is located between Murray’s and PJ’s establishments. Run by friends Nora Lin and Mickey Yang, Tomato Grilled offers a big selection of about 40 to 50 grilled delicacies, including many kebab-style skewers with meat, vegetables and fruit. Food items, all grilled on the spot, can be picked from the display case or the menu. Costing anywhere between NT$10 and NT$90, these include pork with green peppers, beef with apple and onion, grilled tomato wrapped in foil, shrimp, steaks, and a personal favorite of neighbor PJ–the cheese-covered eggplant. There are also drinks including beers for around NT$80. Nora and Mickey stress that all ingredients are fresh and without preservatives.
