iBrew-Beer Bistro

Beer lovers will enjoy this cozy, 20-seat bar and bistro, opened by German David Lowe and Taiwanese Alva Chang. Customers can sit at tables or the bar to enjoy Bavarian Ladenburger Beer imported exclusively by them, draft Altbier and Hoppy Lager (300cc NT$150, 500cc NT$180) from the local Legend craft brewery, plus quality bottled imports (NT$150-180) like Tucher, Kloster, Ayinger and Schenider Weisse from Germany and others from America, Belgium and Denmark. Also unique are six kinds of Flammkuchen (NT$260-280), a thin-crust pizza-like creation from France’s Alsace region made with a special dough and various toppings, but no cheese or tomato sauce. Other dishes include varieties of bratwurst (from Thuringer to Nurnberger), Currywurst, Gulasch with Noodles (NT$260) and tapas platters. Alva and David also market German-made Spiedel Braumeister home-brewing/micro-brewing equipment, with a capacity ranging between 10 to 1,000 liters, plus malt, hops and other brewing materials. Brewing classes are held in an upstairs classroom and they can help customers develop their own recipes.
