KoDo represents yet another high-quality Japanese-style barbecue option along GongYi Road. Walk in and you’ll see fresh meat in the glass-doored refrigerator by the entrance, which leads to the spacious semi-private dining area. The select Wagyu beef here is imported from Japan’s Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Miyazaki and Nagasaki areas and is offered in combination with local Taiwanese farm produce to provide diners with great value for their money.
Adding to the quality ingredients is the restaurant’s use of a recent Japanese invention, a special inner-flame grill that quickly raises the temperature of the cast iron to 250 degrees celsius, instantly searing the beef and locking in juices to ensure that the meat’s flavors are fully preserved. The friendly staff is always happy to help customers grill their selections.
Prices for non-beef set meals start from NT$1,299. For NT$2,999, diners can enjoy different Wagyu beef parts such as the shoulder, belly and ribs. Other beautifully-marbled meats served here include Matsusaka pork and corn-fed chicken. The Black Caesar Fruit and Vegetable Salad, Wagyu Beef and Rice Crust, and Grilled Meat with Rice (made with Taiken Premium Rice No. 9) are also simply delicious. –By Clock Wang Translated by Anna Yang
