This attractive Nordic-style dessert shop, hidden in a tranquil residential neighborhood, was opened by shop director Yang Hao-yu, who studied in France, and a couple of pastry chefs–Frenchman Francois Larrive and his Taiwanese wife. The beautiful French desserts (NT$180-280) here vary every month. “Marry Me” is a dreamy creation that resembles a ring, decorated with white chocolate and flavored butter sauce with sweet and sour raspberry jam. “Woman Power” (女力) is another symbolic dessert that looks like a hairpin decorated with white chocolate and edible gold leaf powder while “Salon”, another pink-hued dessert symbolizing female strength, features a strawberry and vanilla outer layer with lemon mousse and white chocolate inside. All desserts are prepared with seasonal fruit and drinks include top-quality Taiwanese teas served with western-style presentation. Illustrations by local artists decorate special holiday (ex. Mother’s Day) dessert boxes and young local artists’ works are exhibited and highlighted here at monthly events. By Mandy Guo Translated by Anna Yang
