Orient Dragon

Located near the corner with DaGuan Road, this traditional Taiwanese restaurant offers an east-meets-west interior ambiance infused with both modern and nostalgic notes, suitable for both small and large groups of diners.
A teapot of roasted oolong tea is served to every table before dining and the restaurant offers nostalgic Taiwanese dishes that include creative touches and basic Taiwanese ingredients like deep-fried scallions and ginger with boiled meat slices. Reasonably-priced entrees (NT$280-380) include Broiled Cabbage, Taro Rice Noodles, Five-Flavored Squid, Oyster with Soybeans (NT$280-380). The menu also includes the exquisite Chicken Soup with Japanese Yam, and Chicken with Mushroom and Gourd (starting from NT$320), plus fresh seafood (NT$280-980), all savored in an elegant atmosphere decorated liberally with bird cages.
Prices for banquet-style dining here starts from NT$6,800 per table. The variety of dining options includes Warm Seafood Salad, free-range chicken dishes, and Steamed Casserole. For smaller groups of 3-5 people, the healthy, appetizing a la carte Warm Seafood Salad (small NT$380, large NT$780), prepared with red wine and nut vinegar sauce, is recommended. The spicier Iberico Pork Rib with Chili Peppers (NT$880) and Traditional Sesame Oiled Chicken Glutinous Rice (NT$520), exuding special sesame oil and ginger aromas, are also recommended, as is the flavorful Squid and Escargot with Green Onions, made with squid, clams, escargot, bamboo shoots and green onions. –By Niang Chen Translated by Anna Yang
