Island Aurora

This spacious, 496-square-meter, family-friendly restaurant revolves around the tale of three little dinosaurs who saw an aurora on a volcanic island at latitude 3.5 degrees. Besides a first-floor dining area, there’s a second-floor games area for kids. There are also menu items suitable for toddlers and senior citizens. Executive Chef Yang Yuan-ming offers his creative local-flavored, east-meets-west Golden Cheese Kimchi and Grilled Meat Pasta (NT$318), crisp, scrumptious Pork Knuckle (NT$580) with honey mustard sauce and Thai sour and spicy sauce on the side, and attention-getting, filling Thai Style Spicy Chicken Meal Set (NT$380). Adding NT$88 to NT$188 to any main course will see it upgraded to a set meal that includes a salad, soup, bread, drink and dessert. A mushy porridge for babies and toddlers (NT$120-180) is healthy and the Osmanthus Latte (NT$120) is recommended. There’s a NT$300/adult and NT$150/child minimum order and 90-minute dining time limit (which doesn’t apply to the second-floor kids’ area, and holiday reservations are recommended. -By Niang Chen Translated by Anna Yang
