Picture a thick handmade burger with a seven-ounce patty, topped with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, ketchup, mustard, crispy bacon and other ingredients to the point that it barely fits in your hand. This is one of many options (NT$199-249), combining American beef and fresh Taiwanese ingredients between two buns, that can be enjoyed at Burger Guardian.
Owners Billy Tseng, Sean Lin and Nickey Chang say their hamburgers are “American-style” and some of their ingredients–like peanut butter (add NT$20)–make for exquisitely delicious additions. Each order comes with fries and a soda and meals are made even better with sides like the Classic Chili Cheese Fries (NT$100). The restaurant also offers big hot dogs (NT$129-185) and “real milkshakes” prepared with ice cream (NT$85-95), in addition to more Taiwanese-style drinks like milk tea and passion fruit sparkling soda (NT$35).
The restaurant is decorated in the rock ‘n’ roll style of of its owners and you can enjoy every bite to the accompaniment of classic rock background music as well as artistic interior decorations featuring drawings of movie characters by Peter Wu. –By Madeleyne Aguilar Andrade Translated by Anna Yang
