Town Sometimes Food Beverage

Located next to Beitun District’s Xindu Ecology Park and romantic Butterfly Bridge, this restaurant was opened by a youthful chef passionate about the sweet, sour and spicy flavors of Thai cuisine. The menu variety here rivals any other local Thai eatery, with inexpensive main courses (NT$239-269) like Steamed Fish with Lemon, Thai Basil Chili Pork Over Rice, and Tom Yum Sour and Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup, which include rice and three side dishes. Epicures shouldn’t miss the above steamed fish dish, made with fresh Taiwanese six finger threadfin fish. Among other a la carte options (NT$99-249) are Sour and Spicy Chicken Wing, Curry Pork with Rice Crust, and Crisp Chilli Chicken, plus rich, sweet-and-sour flavored Southeast Asian fish entrees perfectly pairing with rice and good for groups. If you avoid spicy food, selections include Hainan Chicken Over Rice, and Thai Shrimp Cake. For dessert, try a bowl of Taro Black Glutinous Rice or cooling, coconut-flavored Momochacha (NT$89). –By Niang Chen Translated by Anna Yang
