De l’art(This place has since closed.)

This blue-and-white Mediterranean restaurant boasts a European-style garden, French windows and crystal chandeliers. Chef Sung Hung-chang uses his many years of cooking experience and artistic creativity to prepare contemporary French cuisine and seasonal set meals with variety and color. Fresh local farm ingredients include traceable agricultural products such as cherry ducks from Yuli, Hualien, “With Heart” pork, and Changhua County asparagus. Various Chef’s Tasting Menus (NT$1380/1680/1980) include an appetizer, cold/warm starters, bread, soup, main entree, dessert and drink. Among the creative starters are the one-bite Croquette with Spanish Chorizo; Black Marbled Pattern Charcoal with Cauliflower Panna Cotta; Rice Cookie with Deep-Fried Salty Egg and Minced Mullet Roe; and eye-catching Gazpacho, made with apple puree, lemon and olive oil. Main entrees include lamb fillet, beef shank, fettuccine, boneless beef ribs, pork chops and cherry duck, and the chef’s specialty vegetable sauce tickles the taste buds. A good-value NT$780 Lunch Set Meal also offers main entree choices and side dishes.
